Seeking Cataract Patients for Light Adjustable Lens (LAL®) Study

The Eye Consultants Research Foundation is currently participating in a U.S. investigational study on the Light Adjustable Lens to evaluate its safety and effectiveness for the treatment of cataracts. Although the LAL is similar in several respects to many standard monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs), the LAL is designed to potentially reduce or eliminate the need for glasses following cataract or lens replacement surgery. If cataracts are affecting your eyesight and interfering with your daily activities, you may be eligible for inclusion in a clinical study of the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL).

The Calhoun Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) is an investigational device in the U.S., which means it has not yet been approved for sale in the U.S. by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and is limited by United States federal law to investigational use only.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact our Study Coordinator Stacy Allen by calling 877-516-4364 at our Grapevine office. Or you may email her at sallen@eyecontx.com.

Eye Consultants of Texas has established the Eye Consultants Research Foundation to actively conduct clinical studies for a variety of eye diseases and conditions. By participating, patients in the DFW metro region will have access to medications and devices in clinical development that provide effective treatment of their particular disease or condition. Each participant receives advanced care from doctors who are experienced in conducting research in accordance with Good Clinical Practice.
